Cellcom Deploys AirWalk’s Next Generation IP Radio Access Networks (RAN)
September 27, 2004 — Richardson, TX – September 27, 2004 – AirWalk Communications, Inc., a Radio Access Network (RAN) developer of CDMA 2000 wireless networks, announced today that Cellcom has commercially deployed the AW-96™ system. Cellcom is the largest locally owned and operated wireless carrier in Northeastern Wisconsin. The AW-96 is a 1xRTT micro solution RAN that simultaneously supports both voice and data services. Cellcom will initially offer services throughout its lower Michigan markets. Cellcom joins the growing list of operators around the world that have deployed the AW-96 system.
