AirWalk Appoints New Executive Talent to Accommodate Recent and Expected Sales Growth
RICHARDSON, TX—August 23, 2007: AirWalk Communications Inc., an innovator of 3G IP Radio Access Network infrastructure, recently appointed three vice presidents to lead sales efforts and development of global channels. Neal Smith will serve as vice president of strategic sales, David Oberholzer joins as vice president of channels and worldwide sales, and Eric Murrell was named vice president of US carrier sales. The growing enthusiasm within the wireless industry towards IP-RAN products, such as femtocells and picocells, has driven AirWalk to dramatically expand its sales and distribution teams.

Neal Smith, vice president of strategic sales for AirWalk, brings over twenty-six years of wireless, broadband, and wireline industry experience. During his first thirteen years Smith progressed through the engineering and management ranks of Sprint and later focused his career on sales and business development with Samsung, Lucent, Nortel Networks and Intel. Smith also made significant contributions in key roles at small start-ups such as Adaptive Broadband, Omnipoint Technologies, Inc. and Mountain Solutions.
David Oberholzer recently joined AirWalk as the vice president channels and worldwide sales. He brings to the company over seventeen years of international telecom sales and business development experience with emphasis in emerging wireless technologies. Oberholzer has extensive corporate and start-up experience with companies including Nortel Networks, BelAir Networks, Sensoria Corporation and Tranzeo Wireless.
Eric Murrell was named vice president of US carrier sales. Eric has over twenty-three years of telecommunications experience with Nortel starting as a test engineer, then product manager and later director of sales in the US. Murrell’s broad knowledge of the telecom market and its many product sectors make him an ideal executive to build a carrier-focused sales team at AirWalk.
In addition to expanding the executive sales team at AirWalk, an experienced direct sales force has been hired to manage the fast growing list of customers and global market reach.
